== Biografi ==
Cornell lahir di [[Palo Alto]], [[California]] dan merupakan alumnus istimewa [[Cambridge Rindge and Latin|Cambridge Rindge and Latin School]] (1976-1979) dan [[Lowell High School (San Francisco)|Lowell High School]] di [[San Francisco]] (1979-1980). Ia menerima gelar B.S. dalam fisika dengan kehormatan dan istimewa dari [[Universitas Stanford]] pada tahun 1985 dan Ph.D. dalam fisika di [[MIT]] pada tahun 1990.
