Baris 31: }} Pemilihan [[Presiden Afghanistan]] diadakan pada tanggal 9 Oktober 2004. [[Hamid Karzai]] memenangkan pemilu dengan 55.4% suara, tiga kali lebih banyak daripada calon lainnya. Dua belas calon lainnya menerima kurang dari 1% suara. Diperkirakan bahwa hampir 12 juta pemilih di Afghanistan terdaftar untuk memberikan suara.
