== Alur Pertempuran ==
Pada hari pertama, sebagian pasukan Konfederasi yang mulai berdatangan ke kota [[Gettysburg, Pennsylvania|Gettysburg]] berhasil memukul mundur pasukan Uni yang ada di kota Getttysburg ke selatan kota, yaitu Cemetry Hill.
Pada hari kedua, sebagian besar komponen pasukan pertempuran, baik dari Konfederasi maupun Uni tiba di medan pertempuran. Pasukan Uni membentuk garis pertahanan membentang dari wilayah ''Culp's Hill'', ''Cemetry Hill'', ''Cemetery Ridge h''ingga ''Round Top''. Pasukan Konfederasi menyerang seluruh garis pertahanan Uni, tetapi gagal memukul mundur pasukan Uni dari posisi pertahanannya.
Pada hari ketiga, pasukan Konfederasi kembali menyerang posisi pertahanan Uni, dimana terjadi serangan infantri berskala besar oleh pasukan Konfederasi yang ditujukan ke bagian tengah garis pertahanan Uni (bagian ''Cemetry Ridge'') yang kemudian diingat sebagai ''Serangan Pickett,'' dinamai berdasarkan salah satu nama mayor jenderal dari tiga mayor jenderal yang memimpin pasukan tersebut, [[George Pickett]]. Serangan infantri ini berakhir dengan kegagalan dengan korban jiwa hampir setengah dari pasukan yang terlibat dalam serangan ini.
Besarnya korban jiwa selama tiga hari pertempuran membuat pasukan Konfederasi tidak melakukan penyerangan lagi pada hari besoknya (4 Juli) dan memutuskan mundur dari medan pertempuran pada hari yang sama.
