Chevrolet Cruze mendapat pengakuan sebagai kendaraan teraman di beberapa ujicoba tabrakan. ''The Australasian New Car Assessment Program'' (ANCAP) di bulan Mei 2009 memberikan penghargaan 5 bintang di ujicoba mereka. Bulan Juli pada tahun yang sama, ''the China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP)'' juga memberikan penghargaan 5 bintang pada tes tabrakan mereka.Korean New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP) dan Euro NCAP juga memberikan penghargaan 5 bintang untuk Chevrolet Cruze.
