Gua ini merupakan tempat penemuan [[fosil]] [[tulang rahang Xiahe]], [[hominini]] tertua di Dataran Tinggi Tibet. Melalui analisis paleoproteomik, tulang rahang ini merupakan temuan fosil Denisova terkonfirmasi pertama di luar [[Gua Denisova]]. Penemuan fosil ini menunjukkan [[manusia purba]] mampu bertahan di lingkungan ketinggian dan oksigen rendah.
