[[BMW Seri 5 (G30)|Generasi ketujuh]] dengan kode G30 diluncurkan tanggal 13 Oktober 2016. Beberapa perbaikan dibandingkan model sebelumnya adalah pengurangan bobot kendaraan hingga 100 &nbsp;kg dan desain baru dengan koefisien drag 0.22 Cd.
