Keseluruhan kalimat tersebut telah saya parafasekan supaya terbaca dengan lebih alami, menjadi "Pendarat Mars terperinci pertama yang dikontrak oleh NASA adalah pendarat buatan Ford/Philco Aeronutronic pada awal 1960-an, ketika diketahui bahwa perkiraan terbaik untuk kerapatan atmosfer Mars ternyata jauh lebih padat daripada yang diungkapkan oleh pengukuran Mariner IV pada bulan Juli 1965". "Perkiraan terbaik" menurut saya perlu tetap disebutkan untuk mendeskripsikan signifikansi dari ''overestimate'' kerapatan atmosfer Mars yang dilakukan oleh NASA sebelum pendaratan Mariner IV terhadap pengembangan pesawat Mars ini.
