== Biografi ==
Monique Wittig lahir pada tahun 1935 di [[Dannemarie, Haut-Rhin]], Prancis. Pada tahun 1950 ia pindah ke [[Paris]] untuk belajar di [[Universitas Paris|Sorbonne]]. Pada tahun 1964, ia menerbitkan novel pertamanya, ''L'Opoponax'' yang langsung mendapat perhatian di Prancis. Setelah novel ini diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Inggris, Wittig meraih pengakuan internasional.
