Terletak di tepi barat [[Terusan Suez]], ini merupakan ibu kota [[Kegubernuran Ismailia]]. Kota ini diperkirakan memiliki penduduk 430.000 jiwa pada 2021 (750.000 jika termasuk kawasan pedesaan di sekitar). Kota ini terletak setengah jalan antara [[Port Said]] di sebelah utara dan [[Suez]] di sebelah selatan.
