'''Balon cuaca''' atau balon sounding adalah sebuah balon (khusus jenis balon ketinggian tinggi) yang membawa instrumen untuk mengirim kembali informasi pada tekanan atmosfer, suhu, [[Kelembapan|kelembaban]] dan kecepatan angin dengan cara, alat pengukur kecil yang disebut radiosonde. Untuk memperoleh data angin, mereka dapat dilacak oleh radar, menemukan arah radio, atau sistem [[navigasi]] (seperti satelit berbasis Global Positioning System, [[Sistem Pemosisi Global|GPS]]).
