Pada Juli 2007, selama proses produksi album kedua ''[[I-Empire]]'', Willard secara resmi mengumumkan bahwa dia keluar dari The Offspring untuk fokus dalam kerjanya bersama Angels & Airwaves. Album tersebut dirilis pada November 2007 dan terjual lebih dari 200.000 ''copy'' di Amerika Serikat. Singel dari album ''I-Empire'' antara lain "[[Everything's Magic]]", "Secret Crowds", dan "Breathe". Willard juga berkontribusi pada album ketiga Angels & Airwaves, ''[[Love (album Angels & Airwaves)|Love]]'', yang dirilis pada 14 Februari 2010. Willard lalu melakukan tour lagi pada bulan Mei hingga Juli.
