Eru tinggal di New York hingga usia 7 tahun dan kemudian ia pindah ke [[Seoul]].
Eru selalu ingin menjadi produser sehingga ia menciptakan banyak lagu. Namun setelah beberapa saat, ia memutuskan bahwa ia tidak ingin orang lain untuk menyanyikan lagu-lagunya. Ia ingin menyanyikannya sendiri. Ia berpikir bahwa seseorang yang menyusun lagu memahaminya lebih baik. Saat itulah ketika ia memutuskan menjadi seorang penyanyi.
