Sebanyak 16 tim akan bermain di kejuaraan ini. Empat tim teratas turnamen akan memenuhi syarat untuk mengikuti [[Piala Dunia U-20 FIFA 2021]] di [[Indonesia]] sebagai perwakilan AFC, selain [[Tim nasional sepak bola U-2019 Indonesia|Indonesia]] yang lolos secara otomatis sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia.
