Maham Begum diangkat menjadi salah satu Ratu awal di kekaisaran Mughal yang menempatkannya dalam pandangan peran penting dan kepribadian atraktifnya. Babur memberikannya gelar kekaisaran tertinggi [[Padshah Begum]]. Gelar tersebut pertama kali dipakai untuknya yang menjadikannya ibu negara pertama Pemerintahan Kekaisaran. Maham Begum kemudian disebutkan dalam Humayun Nama oleh putri angkatnya [[Gulbadan Begum]], yang menyebutnya 'nyonya dan nyonyaku' (aka dan akam).
