Pilihan me-redirect-kan kata ''delusi'' kepada kata ''waham'' didasarkan pada terminologi bahwa kata ''waham'' adalah istilah yang lebih baku dalam ranah psikiatri dan psikologi klinis. Sebaiknya mulai digunakan istilah "waham" sebagai yang utama alih-alih "delusi". Karena di dunia kesehatan jiwa adalah sangat umum menggunakan istilah berbentuk frase dengan kata pertama "waham ...", misalnya "waham siar" atau "waham kejar" (frase "delusi siar" atau "delusi kejar" sangatlah tidak umum jika tak dikatakan rancu. Saya kira Bahasa Indonesia punya perkembangannya sendiri yang kadang-kadang tidak bergantung kepada bahasa asal istilahnya. Transliterasi (pengalihan aksara) untuk membuat istilah tidak selalu berlaku (lagi) dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Sebaliknya pengguna Bahasa Indonesia mencari kata yang mungkin telah hidup lebih lama (atau mungkin neologisme dari unsur-unsur kata yang sudah ada) dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan menggunakannya.
