Ali mengawali karier di dunia hiburan Indonesia melalui film televisi dan beberapa iklan televisi. Salah satu iklan yang cukup menarik perhatian masyarakat adalah saat ia berperan sebagai seorang kiper bernama Hap, dalam rangkaian iklan berseri yang dibuat untuk kampanye bulan [[Ramadan]] dari [[AXIS]].
