Dalam wawancara pada tahun 1970 yang dilakukan oleh fotografer-jurnalis Yahudi asal Amerika yang bernama Ron Laytner. Reitsch mengemukakan bahwa walaupun tentara besar Jerman menjadi lunak, ia tidak pernah malu untuk mengatakan tentang kepercayaannya dengan Nazi. Ia juga masih memakai medali Iron Cross yang diberikan oleh Adolf Hitler. Reitsch mengatakan bahwa di Jerman sudah tidak ada lagi orang yang ditemukan memilih Hitler.
