Konstruksi Skema Snowy dikelola oleh Otoritas Pembangkitan Listrik Pegunungan Snowy. Konstruksi skema ini resmi dimulai pada tanggal 17 Oktober 1949 dan akhirnya selesai pada tahun 1974.
