'''John Edmund Gardner''' ([[20 November]] [[1926]] – [[3 Agustus]] [[2007]]) merupakan seorang penulis novel asal [[Inggris]]. Ia dikenal sebagai penulis buku novel [[James Bond]] dari tahun 1981 sampai 1996. Gardner lahir di Seaton Delaval, Northumberland pada 20 November 1926. Ia kemudian menyelesaikan pendidikan sarjana-nya di St. John's College, Cambridge. Lantas kemudian pendidikan magister-nya ia lanjutkan di Oxford.
Gardner meninggal pada hari Jumat, 3 Agustus 2007 akibat penyakit kegagalan hati. Saat itu ia sedang keluar rumah untuk berbelanja,
