Pada tahun 1885 Doyle menikah dengan Mary Louise (kadang dipanggil "Louisa") Hawkins, putri bungsu J. Hawkins, dari [[Minsterworth]], [[Gloucestershire]], dan saudari salah seorang pasien Doyle.
