== Sejarah ==

Sejak tahun [[1919]] dan [[1947]], sudah dilakukan beberapa kali usaha untuk mendirikan sebuah universitas di [[Norwich]], namun karena kurangnya dukungan dari pemerintah, maka rencana tersebut akhirnya tidak terwujud. Universitas ini mendapatkan lampu hijau di bulan [[April]], [[1960]], dan mulai menerima mahasiswa di bulan [[Oktober]], [[1963]]. Pada awalnya proses belajar mengajar mengambil tempat yang dinamakan "University Village". Lokasinya berseberangan dengan jalan Earlham Road di area kampusnya yang sekarang, yang awalnya didesain untuk bangunan yang mampu menampung hingga 1,200 mahasiswa/i, didesain oleh firma lokal [[Bernard Feilden|Feilden dan Mawson]]. Vice-Chancellor dan tenaga administrasi berpusat di [[Earlham Hall]].
