SIdi Saleh is the first Indonesian who won in Venice Film Festival. He won the Orrizonti award for Best Short Film at the [[:en:71st_Venice_International_Film_Festival|Venice International Film Festival 2014 for his film "Maryam"]], and the same film also entered the selection of Clairmont-Ferrand International Film Festival 2014, France, most prestige short film competition. His film Fitri, which garnered over 1 million hits on Vidsee, also in competition in Clairmont-Ferrand International Film Festival 2013 . Apart from that, he has been producer of [[Babi Buta yang Ingin Terbang|The Blind Pig That Wants to Fly]] and cinematographer of many film nominated at various International Film Festivals, including [https[imdbtitle://eigapedia.com/movie/taksu 4008778|Taksu (2014)]] which is a Japanese Film Production, [[:en:Postcards_from_the_Zoo|Postcard from the Zoo (2012)]], The Blind Pig that Wants to Fly (2008), etc. Besides filmmaking, he has given a filmmaking seminar at BINUS, and taught at FLY 2015 ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator.
