Pada tahun 2011, Seunghoon berhasil lolos audisi program pencarian bakat [[Seoul Broadcasting System|SBS]] K-pop Star. Tujuan program ini adalah mencari "bintang" baru untuk tiga perusahaan manajemen terbesar: [[SM Entertainment|SM]], [[YG Entertainment|YG]], dan [[JYP Entertainment|JYP]]. Acara ini mulai ditayangkan pada bulan Desember tahun itu.
