Pada Periode yang sama terbitnya band Possessed, band kedua yang mempengaruhi genre musik ini adalah band yang terbentuk di Florida yaitu: [[Death (band)]]. dibentuk pada tahun 1983 oleh Chuck Schuldiner, Kam Lee dan Rick Rozz. pada tahun1984 Death merilis demo pertama berjudul ''Death by Metal'', meskipun warna musik Death dikembangkan dari genre lain seperti Black Metal, Progressive Metal, sampai saat ini band Death tetap menjadi favorit dikalangan pecinta musik Death Metal.

Pada tahun 2014 beberapa album dari sub-genre Technical Death Metal menggebrak dengan suasana yang berbeda, beberapa band yang terbentuk setelah tahun 2010 diantaranya: Irreversible Mechanism(20012 - technical Death), The Zenith Passage(20012 - technical Death) hingga saat ini band-band technical death metal menjadi favorit dan selalu melengkapi scene-scene musik extreme metal di seluruh dunia, beberapa album seperti: Archspire - Lucid Collective Somnambulation, Soreption - Engineering the Void, Origin - Omnipresent, Inanimate Existence - A Never-Ending Cycle of Atonement.
