Walaupun konsensus ilmiah menunjukkan bahwa vaksin itu aman dan efektif, masih terdapat kelompok '''anti-vaksin''' yang menentang pemberian [[vaksin]] baik secara personal maupun berkelompok. Alasan penolakan ini bisa karena menganut teori konspirasi atau pun kepercayaan dalam agama. Sikap anti vaksin bisa pula muncul karena menyalahpahami efek samping yang muncul dari vaksin atau salah informasi mengenai kandungan atau proses pembuatan vaksin.
