On 14 May, the Johor state assembly convened. Sultan [[Ibrahim Ismail of Johor|Ibrahim Ismail]] addressed the assembly and called on politicians not to create a "virus" of divisiveness and discord that would infect the rest of the country in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
