Pada tahun 2007, model dari Land Cruiser generasi selanjutnya telah diuji di Oman. Model ini dikenal sebagai Land Cruiser 200, menggunakan platform dan desain yang sama dengan [[Lexus LX|Lexus LX 570]].

 

Meskipun kapasitas mesinnya lebih kecil dari sebelumnya (4.7 L V8 (4663cc)), tetapi keluaran tenaganya meningkat dari 212 kW (284hp) menjadi 234 kW (314 hp), torsinya meningkat dari 448 Nm menjadi 460 Nm. Konsumsi bensinnya pun semakin efisien, dari 6.6 km/liter menjadi 7.1 km/liter.
