Dengan kemampuan, ketangguhan dan mudahnya dalam operasional dan perawatan, F-20 Tigershark sebenarnya cukup mampu dioperasikan oleh negara negara maju lebih-lebih negara-negara dunia ketiga yang memiliki anggaran militer khususnya angkatan udara terbatas. Namun tidak adanya dukungan dari Pemerintah Amerika Serikat, dengan sendirinya negara-negara dunia ketiga enggan untuk mengoperasikannya. Hal yang sering dialami oleh produsen persenjataan negara-negara Barat yang sering bertolak belakang dengan kebijakan politik pemerintahannya serta persaingan tidak sehat antar produsen senjata, sehingga hal yang ironis seperti persenjataan yang murah, mudah dan modern sering bernasib hanya sampai di tingkat ujicoba dan prototype saja.
