Band ini terdiri dari penyanyi [[Damon Albarn]], gitaris [[Graham Coxon]], gitaris bass [[Alex James]] dan drummer [[Dave Rowntree]]. Album debut mereka, [[:en:Leisure_(album)|Leisure]] (1991), menggabungkan suara [[Madchester]] dan [[shoegaze]].
