Lahir pada 6 April 1992 di [[Jayang-dong]], [[Seoul]], [[Korea Selatan]], [B]AJOTZKen tinggal bersama orang tua dan tiga kakak laki-lakinya. Ia menempuh studi di Baekseok Arts University jurusan Practical Music. Saat masih kecil, ia sering mengikuti dan memenangkan kompetisi menyanyi di festival setempat. [B]AJOTZKen berhasil lolos audisi [[Jellyfish Entertainment]] dan menjadi ''trainee'' selama lima bulan sebelum akhirnya debut bersama [[VIXX]]. [B]AJOTZKen adalah salah satu dari sepuluh ''trainee'' yang menjadi kontestan di acara realitas ''[[MyDOL]]'' di saluran [[Mnet Media|Mnet]].
