Baris 1:
Nusantaro grammar is the body of rules that describe the structure of expressions in the Nusantaro language. Standard Nusantaro shares largely the same grammar and most of the vocabulary and phonological processes with the other varieties of Insular Overseas Romance languages.

As a Romance language, Nusantaro shares many characteristics with its more distant relatives: Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc. However, Romanian has preserved certain features of Latin grammar that have been lost elsewhere. That could be explained by a host of arguments such as: relative isolation in the Indonesian archipelago, far from the rest of Romance languages area, influence of local Malay, Sundanese, and Javanese language, or other substratum (as opposed to the substrata under which the other Romance languages developed), and existence of similar elements in the neighboring languages. One Latin element that has survived in Nusantaro while having disappeared from other Romance languages are: two surviving cases in nouns (nominative and oblique), and passive verb conjugation. The most influential differences from other mainland Romance languages (and Latin itself) is the loss of genders in nouns, ultimately because of the influence of Malay.

Nusantaro is attested from the 15th century. The first Indonesian grammar was ''Liber Lingui post-Latini'' published in 1830. Many modern writings on Nusantaro grammar, in particular most of those published by the Centre Lingui Nusantari (Centre of the Language of Nusantara), are prescriptive; the rules regarding plural formation, verb conjugation, word spelling and meanings, etc. are revised periodically to include new tendencies in the language.

==Articles==
{{Episode list
Unlike most of Romance languages, but like those of Eastern Romance, the definite articles of Nusantaro (and most of other Insular Overseas Romance) are attached as enclitics at the end of the noun instead of being placed in front. But unlike them, these articles are believed to have been developed from Javanese and Malay 3rd person possesive affixes ''-e/-ne'' or ''-nya''. These articles are used not as often as those of the other Romance languages, only when definiteness is required. There is also no plural form.

}}

The indefinite articles, on the other hand, is developed from the word for Latin number "one" ''unus''. Because of the loss of gender, the rule of using which form are based on the vowel at the end of the noun.
