==Pemeran Sinopsis ==
Cerita bermula saat [[Chanakya|Acharya Chanakya]]; yang baru saja bermimpi dimana [[Chandragupta Maurya]] (dalam bentuk sebuah singa) muncul dan foretold him tentang bahaya yang akan menimpa kekaisaran Maurya. Sementara itu; Raja Bindusara tengah memperluas kekuasaan Maurya dari [[Magadha]] sampai ke Patliputra. Di sisi lain; sebuah taktik untuk menguasai tahta [[Magadha]] dan seluruh kerajaan dimainkan oleh Ratu Helena; yang dalam prosesnya berusaha membunuh Raja Bindusara berkali-kali tapi terus saja gagal berkat Acharya Chanakya.
 
Serial ini kemudian fokus pada masa kecil [[Ashoka]]; yang mendapat bimbingan dan latihan sangat keras dari Acharya Chanakya. Acharya Chanakya percaya bahwa Ashoka akan menjadi penguasa Magadha yang hebat karena kepribadiannya dan sumpahnya untuk melayani tanah air hingga akhir hayatnya. Tapi Ashoka tidah pernah menginginkan tahta tersebut karena menurutnya adiknya; Siyamaklah yang tepat untuk menjadi penguasa Magadha.
 
Sementara itu, Acharya Chanakya bersama Radhagupta dan pengikutnya sibuk melindungi tahta Magadha dari kejahatan dan korupsi yang dipraktikkan oleh Ratu Helena dan musuh-musuh Magadha. Ratu Helenapun membuat rencana melenyapkan Acharya Chanakya. Di sisi lain, Acharya Chanakya telah mengetahui Permaisuri Charumitra mempraktikkan ilmu hitam kepada Permaisuri [[Subhadrangi|Dharma]] dan ini membuatnya terpojok. Pangeran Susima membenci Acharya Chanakya karena lebih menyukai Ashoka daripada dirinya, sementara mahamatya Khalatak selalu iri kepada Acharya Chanakya karena Bindusara lebih percaya kepadanya daripada dirinya. Maka Ratu Helena, Permaisuri Charumitra, Pangeran Sushima dan Khalatak bersatu untuk melenyapkan Acharya Chanakya. Pangeran Siyamak juga bergabung dengan misi ini karena yakin orang tuanya (Justin dan Noor) meninggal karena Acharya Chanakya. Mereka semua membunuh Acharya Chanakya yang pada saat-saat terakhirnya memberitahu Ashoka bahwa satu-satunya cara untuk mengabdi kepada negerinya adalah dengan cara menjadi Raja Magadha bagaimanapun caranya.
 
Ashoka yakin Acharya Chanakya tidak meninggal secara kebetulan tapi karena sebuah konspirasi yang dilakukan oleh musuh-musuh Magadha. Karena itu; Ashoka bersumpah untuk menghukum para pelakunya sekaligus mewujudkan harapan dan sumpah terakhir Chanakya untuk menjadi Raja Magadha bagaimanapun caranya.
 
Sementara itu,untuk mengakhiri kekejian Keechak, Ashoka ditugaskan ke Takshashila dan setelah perjuangan yang amat berat, tugas ini berhasil dituntaskan. Di sanalah dia bertemu dengan Putri dari Kalinga, Kaurvaki, mereka menjalin hubungan yang unik sekaligus kuat dan menikah meski tanpa persetujuan ayah Kaurvaki, Raja Jagannath.
 
Ashoka kembali ke Patliputra, dan kemudian atas informasi dari Ratu Helena yang saat itu dijatuhi hukuman mati, mengetahui bahwa anggota keluarganya juga terlibat dengan kematian Acharya Chanakya. Namun dalam proses membuat para pelaku tersebut mendapat hukuman atas dosa mereka, keadaan malah berbalik; membuatnya menyerang Raja Bindusara dan melukai Susima. Dengan alasan keadilan, Bindusara mengusir Ashoka dari Patliputra. Demi melindungi putranya, Permaisuri Dharma memilih pergi dengannya meninggalkan Patliputra dan menetap di [[Ujjain]].
 
Beberapa tahun kemudian, digambarkan seorang Ashoka yang kejam yang kini bergama Chand. Bersama Permaisuri Dharma dan adiknya, Pangeran [[Vit]] tinggl di Ujjain di rumah milik saudagar Dhanisharam bersama anaknya, Devi. Sementara itu di Kalinga, satu-satunya ambisi Kaurvaki adalah untuk bertemu kembali dengan Ashoka dan berusaha keras meyakinkan ayahnya Raja Jagannath. Bindusara menjadi lebih cruel dan kasar selang beberapa tahun tersebut sementara dengan bantuan ilmu hitam, Permaisuri Charumitra telah membuat Pangeran Susima menjadi lebih kuat dari sebelumnya.
 
Saat pertandingan antara Ashoka dan Susima Permaisuri Dharma dan Pangeran Vit muncul dan menghentikan pertandingan. Semua orang mengenalinya. Raja Bindusara memaafkan mereka dan meminta mereka untuk kembali Patliputra. Permaisuri Dharma dan Pangeran Vit kembali ke Patliputra, sementara Ashoka menolak. Dia pergi ke hutan dan tanpa sengaja bertemu dengan Kaurvaki yang tengah kabur dari kerajaan untuk menemuinya. Saat mencari makan untuknya, Ashoka melihat Devi dan ayahnya yang ditawan oleh Nirankush. Ashoka berhasil menyelamatkan mereka namun Nirankush berhasil kabur. Ashoka kembali ke Patliputra membawa anak bawan Nirankush dan kepada Raja Bindusara mengungkap praktik perpajakan yang telah terjadi selama 10 tahun terakhir. Dia juga mengungkap bahwa Kondna ada dibalikk semua itu.
 
Suatu malam Siamak menemui Kondna secara sembunyi-sembunyi. Dan terungkaplah bahwa ternyata Kondna tak lain adalah Ratu Helena. Ashoka menyusun rencana untuk menangkap kondna menggunakan Nirankush. Berdasarkan petunjuk dari Nirankush Ashoka mengetahui bahwa Kondna adalah Ratu Helena dan menyampaikan hal tersebut kepada semua orang namun tak ada yang percaya karena Ratu Helena sudah wafat. Ashoka kemudian menyusun rencana menangkap Helena dan menyeretnya ke hadapan semua orang.
 
Bagaimana Ashoka menjadi Raja Magadha menghadapi politik kerjaan dan mewujudkan impian Acharya Chanakya untuk "Kesatuan India"(Akhand Bharatvarsh) dikisahkan di cerita selanjutnya.
