LOEN Entertainment mengumumkan pada 12 April 2013 bahwa mereka akan mendebutkan [[Idola pop Korea|grup idola]] pria pertama mereka bernama "History" pada tanggal 26 bulan itu. Disaat yang sama, mereka mengungkapkan dua anggota grup, Kim Si-hyoung (sebelumnya tampil dalam ''Ulzzang Generation Season 3'') dan Jang Yi-jeong (sebelumnya tampil dalam ''Birth of a Great Star 2'').<ref name=":0" />

 

Sebelum debut mereka, Na Do-kyun menjadi vokalis untuk grup rock/ballad Buzz dengan nama panggung Na Yul, sementara Song Kyung-il menjadi penari dengan tampil di video musik "Beautiful Dancer" oleh [[IU (penyanyi)|IU]] dan "[[Vista (lagu)|Vista]]" oleh [[Fiestar]], serta penampilan dari "Cruel Fairy Tale" oleh IU di [[Seoul Broadcasting System|SBS]] ''[[Inkigayo]]'' dan GD TV. Tak lama setelah itu, Yijeong tampil dalam singel IU, "Friday", dari album repackage ''Modern Times- Epilogue''. Yijeong berpartisipaso dalam penulisan lirik untuk lagu "I Got U" dan "Blue Moon". Produser lama Cho Young-chul, yang sebelumnya bekerja untuk singel debut History "Dreamer" dan album mini mereka sebelumnya ''Just Now'' dan ''Blue Spring'', juga berpartisipasi dalam produksi album mini ini.
