The test was of the facility's drive system, not the actual car which had the [[Drive shaft|tail shaft]] removed, {{convert|300|kg}} of sand [[ballast weight|ballast]] placed in the footwells and [[Trunk (automobile)|boot]] and a {{convert|75|kg}} ballast dummy placed on the rear seat. This was supposed to represent a worst-case scenario.
