Misi ini dirancang untuk menunjukkanmendemonstrasikan kelayakan pemantauan satelit global untuk fenomena oseanografi dan untukserta membantu menentukan persyaratan untuksistem operasionaloperasi sistem satelit penginderaan jauh lautan di masa depan.
