Perubahan iklim dan gender: Perbedaan antara revisi

[[Transportasi]] menyumbang emisi [[Karbondioksida|karbon dioksida]] sebesar 24,5% di seluruh dunia {{sfn|GenderCC|2019}} dan merupakan salah satu dari tiga besar penyumbang [[gas rumah kaca]]. Berdasarkan penelitian, laki-laki dan perempuan memiliki pola perjalanan yang berbeda sehingga berpotensi menghasilkan emisi karbon dioksida yang juga berbeda.{{sfn|Budiarti|Nurhadi|2017|p=39-40}} Studi perilaku perjalanan menunjukkan bahwa perempuan memiliki karakteristik khas terkait pilihan moda transportasi, waktu tempuh, tujuan perjalanan, rute, rantai perjalanan, dan jarak perjalanan. Perbedaan tersebut sebagian besar disebabkan oleh kegiatan perempuan yang lebih kompleks daripada laki-laki. Pembagian kerja berbasis gender membuat perempuan memiliki kewajiban yang lebih bervariasi, termasuk di dalamnya pekerjaan, aktivitas rumah tangga, dan tugas pengasuhan. Sehingga, perempuan lebih cenderung melakukan perjalanan dengan jarak yang lebih pendek, lebih kompleks, perjalanan ulang alik dengan beberapa tujuan berbeda, perjalanan tidak terkait dengan pekerjaan, bepergian di luar jam sibuk dan menggunakan lebih banyak variasi rute. Mereka juga cenderung lebih memilih moda transportasi yang fleksibel tergantung pada sejumlah karakteristik sosial, seperti usia, pendapatan, dan jumlah tanggungan dalam keluarga.{{sfn|International Transport Forum|2019}} Sedangkan laki-laki, menurut WHO, mengkonsumsi lebih banyak energi karena tingginya angka penggunaan kendaraan pribadi oleh mereka.{{sfn|World Health Organization|2014|p=3}}
