Air Vice Marshal Benedictus Benny Koessetianto was born on 29th November 1968 in Madiun, Indonesia. He completed his initial military education at the Indonesian Air Force Academy from 1987 to 1990 and completed his pilot school at 1995. He is also a pilot instructor on transport aircraft, a qualification obtained in Indonesian Air Force Pilot School. With rich experience as an aviator, AVM Koessetianto is also an air accident and incident investigator. He attended some courses related to safety and security such as Flight Safety Officer Course (Australia, 1997), Maritime Air Surveillance Course (Australia, 2001) Flying Security Officer Course (Indonesia, 2003), Aviation Risk Management (Australia, 2006) and Integrated Safety Management (Singapore, 2007). A military leader with great experience he has served in various unit appointments at command and staff levels. In 2011, he was posted as the Indonesian Air Force Attaché in Washington DC. Upon completion of his posting, he was assigned as the Senior Staff Officer for Foreign Affairs at the Indonesian Air Force Headquarters. He commanded the Sulaiman Air Force Base, Bandung in 2018. He was promoted to Air Commodore in 2020 while held position in the Indonesian National Resilience Council. Later that year he held the position of Deputy Commandant of the Indonesian Armed Forces Peacekeeping Center. In July 2021, he was assigned as the Commandant of the Indonesian Armed Forces Peacekeeping Center and promoted to Air Vice Marshal. AVM Koessetianto attended Indonesian Air Force Command and Staff College in 2005. He then studied Master of Aviation Management in Australia in 2007. He completed the Australian Defence and Strategic Studies Course in 2017, in which he also obtained his Master of International Relations from Deakin University, Australia. AVM Koessetianto has received several national and international decorations. To name a few: Legion of Merit, Bintang Yudha Dharma Nararya and Bintang Swa Bhuwana Paksa Nararya.
