Baris 72:
Bagi sejarawan tradisional dan modern, pengunduran diri Nashr demi Ismail I menandai berakhirnya "al-daulah al-ghalibiyyah al-nashriyyah", "dinasti Nashri al-Ghalib", yang penguasanya adalah keturunan patrilineal dari Muhammad I yang juga dikenal dengan julukan "al-Ghalib billah", dan memulai cabang dinasti baru: ''al-daulah al-isma'iliyyah al-nashriyyah'', "dinasti Nashri dari Ismail".{{sfn|Fernández- Puertas|1997|p=5}}{{sfn|Boloix Gallardo|2016|p=281}} Dinasti Nashri tidak memiliki aturan suksesi khusus, tetapi Ismail I adalah yang pertama dari sedikit penguasa yang hanya diturunkan secara matrilineal dari garis kerajaan. Contoh lainnya terjadi pada tahun 1432 dengan aksesi [[Yusuf IV dari Granada|Yusuf IV]] ke takhta kesultanan.{{sfn|Boloix Gallardo|2016|p=281}}
