This group then joined a larger conspiratorial alliance in 1932 with [[Leon Trotsky]], zinovievists and some unnamed [[Right Opposition|rightists]]. In a letter from [[Lev Sedov|Trotsky's son]], they were referred to as the 'Sten–Lominadze group'. Syrtsov was arrested on 19 April 1937 during the [[Great Purge]].
