The "Bebaskan Pengetahuan 2010" (BP2010) is a three month program developed by Wikimedia Indonesia to leverage public participation to improve Indonesian language Wikipedia articles. It is a pilot project to introduce the Wikimedia mission "Free Knowledge" worldwide. The ultimate goal is to provide an open source of information for everyone. The competition targets talented young writers from Universities and partners with mainstream media. By providing information and inspiring discourse, Wikimedia is hoping to promote a stronger demand for improved information and increased community participation from the local to national level.
▲I am delighted to write this letter on behalf of Hans Abdiel to outline his contribution during his participation in "Bebaskan Pengetahuan 2010" (''Free Your Knowledge 2010'') writing competition in Indonesian language Wikipedia with Wikimedia Indonesian from April 1 to June 16 2010.
Hans was introduced to the program by (fill in the blanks). Each University is permitted to submit no more than nine of their best students as participants to compete on behalf of the University. As one of the chosen nine, Hans competed on behalf of the As one of the chosen nine, Covan competed on behalf of the Faculty of Theology at School of Theology Jakarta (Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Jakarta). According to the Project Director supervisor Siska Doviana, during his three months competition, Hans has been an exceptional participant, he has been very productive, a fast learner, an able to write in a clear and neutral perspective for his articles. He receives the best accumulative score from the Jury for his articles "Thomas Hobbes" and "John Locke", and some of positive feedback he receives from the Jury were "excellent writing", "covers all perspective and smart", and "wonderful articles and easy to read".
Hans successfully wrote 208 (two hundred and eight) high-quality articles within 72 days of competition. Hans' long and short articles were consistent, covering specific topics of high profile philosopher living in different times. Hans hard work culminated in his achievement as a runner up position in the competition (out of 90 participants) receiving a laptop as an acknowledgment for his contribution for Indonesia's Ministry of Informatics and Technology, Directorate General of Telematics Application: Ashwin Sasongko. Hans also successfully complete the demanding three month competition.
We would like to congratulate Hans for his achievement and his tireless work to improving and creating articles. Wikimedia wishes his success in his future endeavors.
