Pada awalnya inskripsi ini sulit terbaca akibat endapan mineral, sehingga Professor [[Archibald Sayce]] yang pertama kali melakukan pembacaan tentatif, memersihkan dengan cairan asam agar lebih terbaca. Inskripsi itu terdiri dari 6 baris. Baris pertama rusak. Kata-katanya dipisahkan dengan tanda titik. Hanya kata "''zada''" pada baris ketiga masih diragukan terjemahannya, karena adanya retakan atau bagian yang lemah.
