Akibat posisinya sebagai istri dari Louis XVI dan ibu dari [[Louis XVII]] maka dia menemui ajalnya di pisau [[guillotine]] pada masa [[Revolusi Perancis]] pada tahun [[1793]] dan dimakamkan bersama suaminya di makam kerajaan di [[Saint Denis Basilica]], [[Paris]].
