Kereta api Pangrango adalah kereta api berstatus KA Komersial (kelas eksekutif dan ekonomi) milik PT Kereta Api Indonesia dengan relasi Halte Bogor Paledang - Stasiun Sukabumi. Kereta api Pangrango diresmikan oleh Menteri Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) Dahlan Iskan pada tanggal 9 November 2013, bersamaan dengan pembukaan Stasiun Bogor Paledang, menggantikan KRD Bumi Geulis yang sudah mogok sejak Desember 2012.

Susunan rangkaian kereta ini pada awal beroperasi terdiri satu lokomotif, tiga gerbong ekonomi AC, satu gerbong eksekutif, dan satu gerbong kereta makan pembangkit. Saat ini, okupansi Kereta Api Pangrango sangat tinggi, sehingga menggunakan susunan rangkaian 1 gerbong makan pembangkit ekonomi eksterior Batik Cikole, satu gerbong eksekutif, dan empat gerbong ekonomi.

Stamformasi

Terhitung mulai tanggal 1 Januari 2016, layanan kelas eksekutif pada KA Pangrango dihapus, jadi KA Pangrango hanya membawa kereta ekonomi saja.^[1] Namun atas desakan dari para penumpang rute Bogor-Sukabumi dan sebaliknya, maka PT KAI Daerah Operasi I Jakarta memutuskan kembali menyediakan layanan kelas Eksekutif pada seluruh perjalanan KA Pangrango mulai keberangkatan tanggal 21 Januari 2016.^[2]

Bersamaan dengan dikembalikannya layanan kelas Eksekutif pada KA Pangrango, maka PT KAI Daerah Operasi I Jakarta melakukan perubahan jadwal untuk KA Pangrango (Bogor-Sukabumi PP), yang akan mulai berlaku pada tanggal 21 Januari 2016 mendatang. Jadwal yang tersedia pada tabel di atas masih berlaku hingga tanggal 20 Januari 2016.

Insiden

Tanggal 3 Januari 2014 pukul 14.05, KA 7118 Pangrango relasi Bogor Paledang - Sukabumi anjlok di Jembatan Pamoyanan Cicurug, Cicurug, Sukabumi, Jawa Barat dikarenakan adanya rel patah. Tidak ada korban jiwa dalam peristiwa ini. 1 kereta makan yang berada di rangkaian terakhir KA nyaris terguling akibat menginjak rel yang patah. Akhirnya kereta makan tersebut dilepaskan dan ditinggalkan dari rangkaian lalu kereta kembali berjalan tanpa aliran listrik & fasilitas restorasi. Perbaikan rel telah selesai dilakukan pada pukul 21.25, dengan memperbaiki bantalan yang patah dan esoknya KA bisa kembali melintas dengan normal.^[4]
