Kudeta Jepang di Indochina Prancis
Kudeta Jepang di Indochina Perancis, yang dikenal sebagai Meigo Sakusen (Operasi Bulan Purnama),[3][4] adalah sebuah operasi Jepang yang terjadi pada 9 Maret 1945 sampai akhir Perang Dunia II. Dengan pasukan Jepang kalah perang dan ancaman invasi sekutu ke wilayah Indochina, Jepang bangkit melawan pasukan kolonial Perancis.[5]

Meskipun Perancis telah mengantisipasi serangan, Jepang berhasil melakukan kampanye militer melawan garisun-garisun di seluruh koloni tersebut. Perancis kehilangan pertahanan dan seluruh garisun melarikan diri dengan beberapa diantaranya kabur ke Tiongkok Nasionalis.[2] Jepang menggantikan para perwira Perancis, dan secara efektif melepaskan kontrol mereka atas Indochina. Jepang kemudian mengambil alih dan membentuk Kekaisaran Vietnam, Kerajaan Kamboja dan Kerajaan Laos yang berada di bawah kepemimpinan mereka melalui kehadiran militernya dan bersiap sedia akan invasi potensial yang dilakukan oleh sekutu.[6][7]
