Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi (lahir 19 Juni 1970) adalah seorang politikus India dan anggota Kongres Nasional India.

Rahul adalah putra dari Sonia dan Rajiv Gandhi, cucu dari almarhum Perdana Menteri India, Indira Gandhi, dan cicit dari Perdana Menteri India pertama, Jawaharlal Nehru. Pada 1991, ayahnya (juga mantan perdana menteri) dibunuh oleh kelompok Macan Tamil.

Rahul masuk ke dunia politik pada tahun 2004. Sebelumnya dia adalah seorang penasehat keuangan di London sebelum kembali ke India pada Agustus 2002.In 2017, Gandhi succeeded his mother as Congress party leader and led the Congress into the 2019 Indian general election. The Indian National Congress won 52 seats, failing to get 10% of the seats needed to claim the post of Leader of Opposition. After this poor performance in the election, Gandhi resigned as party leader and was succeeded by his mother, Sonia Gandhi.On 24 March 2023, he was disqualified by the Lok Sabha speaker, from the membership of the Parliament, following the conviction. The notification issued stated him as an Ex-MP and said that he was disqualified adhering to the provisions provided under Article 102 of the Constitution.
