Rudaki
Abū 'Abd Allāh Ja'far ibn Muḥammad Rūdakī (bahasa Persia: ابوعبدالله جعفر بن محمد رودکی; lahir ca 859, Rudaki, Khorasan – wafat 940/941), better known as Rudaki (رودکی), dan juga dikenal sebagai "Adam dari Syair-syair" (آدمالشعرا), adalah seorang penyair Persia[1][2][3] yang dipandang sebagai pakar sastra berpengaruh pertama dari bahasa Persia modern]. Rudaki mengkomposisikan syair-syair dalam abjad Persia modern dan dianggap sebagai pendiri sastra Persia klasik. Syairnya mengandung banyak genre tertua dari syair Persia yang meliputi quatrain,[4] namun, hanya sejumlah kecil dari syair buatannya yang masih ada.

A notable feature of Persian is the small extent to which it has changed over the thousand years or more of its existence as a literary language. For example, a modern reader should have no difficulty in reading and comprehending the poems of Rudaki, the first Persian poet of note, who died in the year AD 940.
