Ludwig Scotty

Ludwig Derangadage Scotty (b. 20 Juni 1948 di Anabar) adalah Presiden Republik Nauru dari 29 Mei 2003 hingga 8 Agustus 2003 dan sejak 22 Juni 2004 untuk jabatan keduanya.

Berangkat dari distrik Anabar, Scotty masuk Parlemen dari tahun 1990-an hingga 2000. Sebagai pejabat administrasi caretaker untuk Derog Gioura, Scotty dipilih parlemen menjadi presiden pada vote 10-7 atas ketua Partai Pusat (Centre Party) dan Presiden Kinza Clodumar. With the blessings of the outgoing Gioura administration, President Scotty committed to paying the country's civil servants after suffering near-bankruptcy, strengthening relations with the United States and discovering ways to develop a sustainable economy.

President Scotty's cabinet included himself as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baron D. Waqa of Boe district as Minister of Education, David Adeang of Ubenide as Minister of Finance, Dr. Kieren Keke of Yaren as Minister of Health, Russel E. Kun of Ubenide as Minister of Justice and Dogabe A. Jeremiah of Meneng as Minister of Public Works.

Scotty was ousted in a vote of no confidence in August 2003 and was replaced by René Harris. He returned as President on June 22, 2004 after a member of Nauru's Parliament defected. Scotty was re-elected to Parliament in elections in October 2004, and most of his allies also did well.
