Joshua Oppenheimer
Joshua Lincoln Oppenheimer (lahir 23 September 1974 di Texas, Amerika Serikat) adalah sutradara film berkebangsaan Amerika dan Inggris tinggal di Copenhagen, Denmark.

Film karya Oppenheimer mengaburkan batas antara fiksi dan dokumenter. Dipengaruhi oleh montase eksperimental gurunya, Dusan Makavejev, film panjang pertamanya The Entire History of the Louisiana Purchase (1997) memenangi penghargaan Gold Hugo pada Chicago International Film Festival (1998)[1] dan di putar perdana pada Telluride Film Festival 1997.
Dari tahun 2001 sampai 2012, Oppenheimer membuat beberapa film di Indonesia.
Film terbaru Joshua Oppenheimer Jagal atau dalam bahasa Inggris The Act of Killing (2012) diputar pertama kali pada Telluride Film Festival 2012. Sejak pemutaran perdana film ini telah memenangkan banyak penghargaan internasional, termasuk Panorama Audience Award dan Prize of the Ecumenical Jury dari Berlin International Film Festival 2013.[2] Film Jagal juga memenangi Robert Award dari Film Academy of Denmark, selain Bodil Awards dari Asosiasi Kritikus Film Nasional Denmark.[3]
Pendidikan
Joshua Oppenheimer mendapatkan gelar Bachelor of Arts (BA) dengan predikat summa cum laude dalam bidang film dari Harvard University, dan gelar Ph.D. dari Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London, melalui beasiswa Marshall Scholarship.
