Michael Chernus
Michael Chernus (lahir 8 Agustus 1977)[1] adalah aktor film berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat. Namanya dikenal melalui peran-perannya di berbagai film, televisi, dan panggung teater, terutama ketika berperan sebagai Cal Chapman dalam serial film drama komedi produksi Netflix berjudul Orange Is the New Black (2013–present).

Latar belakang
suntingChernus merupakan lulusan dari Juilliard School Divisi Drama.[2] Seorang aktor panggung yang ulung, Michael memenangi penghargaan dari Obie Award tahun 2011[3] dan masuk nominasi dalam Lucille Lortel[4] berkat perannya dalam karya Lisa Kron berjudul In the Wake di The Public Theater New York City. Di atas panggung, dia ikut bermain bersama David Hyde Pierce di Manhattan Theater Club untuk judul Close Up Space di New York City Center.[5] Di luar New York antara lain dia tercatat bermain di Playwrights Horizons, Roundabout Theatre Company, Primary Stages, New York Theatre Workshop, The Atlantic Theater Company, dan sebagainya. The New York Times menyebut, dia sebagai pemain terbaik tahun 2010.[6]
Kebanyakan peran yang diterima adalah saat produksi Second Stage Theatre dalam judul Lips Together, Teeth Apart, membintangi America Ferrera.[7] Chernus telah bermain di beberapa film di antaranya Men in Black 3, Captain Phillips, The Bourne Legacy, dan Jack and Diane.[8]
