Olivier Roy (guru besar)
Olivier Roy (lahir 1949 di La Rochelle) adalah ilmuwan politik asal Prancis, guru besar di European University Institute di Firenze, Italia.[1][2] Ia telah menulis beberapa artikel dan buku tentang sekularisasi[3] and Islam[4] antara lain "Global Islam"[5] dan The Failure of Political Islam. Ia dikenal memiliki "pandangan yang berbeda soal Islam radikal" bila dibandingkan dengan pakar-pakar lain. Ia memandang Islam radikal sebagai kalangan pinggiran, terwesternisasi, teradikalisasi, dan "virtual", bukan kalangan yang taat dan "dominan").[6] Ia telah mengemukakan pandangannya tentang penembakan Charlie Hebdo[7] dan serangan Paris November 2015.[8]
